Cygnus is extracted in the region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Bronze, cedar, copper and coffee hues are domeinant in Cygnus’s colouration, and it is spotted with ivory and black. Blocks are cut in a way to feature its depth’s tridimensional effect, and extraordinary look unmatched by any other natural stone on the market.
An activator is factory-applied to darken this quartzite, and once it dissipates, its true colours will enhance the pale grey flecks present in the stone. To maintain a darker colouration, a sealer should be applied every 6 to 8 months or as needed.
During the polishing process, and epoxy resin is applied to the surface of the stone to fill part of its porosity (or pores) and natural cracks that may be apparent. This has no incident on the durability, maintenance or beauty of the natural stone. It is possible that certain pores are too small to contain efficiently the resin, and reopen during the finishing stages. However, this does not affect the stone’s quality or beauty. Such as it is the case with many natural stones, it is recommended to apply a sealer to extend its beauty through time.
