Tips

Below are some of our favorite feng shui tips that we've compiled to make your home more relaxing.
Candles
Candles give off a pleasant light, attracting others with their energy: when a fire is lit, people draw near as its warmth and flames provide heat and infuse the air with a sense of health.

Salt and stability
When placed in a small metal or ceramic bowl near your main entrance, salt absorbs the negative energy in a dwelling and transforms it to create a stable atmosphere. Salt should be changed every three weeks.

The five elements and colours in Feng Shui
* Wood: green * Fire: red * Earth: yellow * Water: blue and black * Metal: white

The ideal kitchen has
* Lots of airflow and circulation * A plant to purify the air * Fire (oven) placed in the east or the south * Water (sink, dishwasher) placed in the west or the north * A large, stable working area * Yellow walls to stimulate the stomach and intestines * Terracotta flooring * A window over the sink

The proverb of the broken mirror
Hanging segmented mirrors on walls fragments your self-image: this brings ill fortune, like the old proverb that says that breaking a mirror leads to seven years of bad luck.
