Antique Brown is extracted from a quarry in the Huila region in Angola, a land rich of a vast mineral reserve that enables them to export various magnificent colours.
The stone is then transformed in Spain or Italy. Very few quarries distribute all the way to North America.
Its dark greyish-browns and crystal-white spots bring out the subtle variations of the stone. The slab is comprised of dark-brown irregular crystals with metallic glints of mica, tributes to Angola’s beautiful precipitous landscapes.
Often, its crystals will show white striations that are apparent on large slab areas. Also, vey fine veinage can have the appearance of cracks, but it is in fact the stone’s natural colour.
